- It's creamy, rich, not overly sweet and fulfills the chocolate and caffeine craving
- Chocolate cold foam elevates any coffee drink.
Ingredients and tools you will need
- Unsweetened cocoa powder - for the delicious chocolate flavor
- Cane sugar - for added sweetness
- Heavy cream - for richness and thickness
- Milk - milk of choice - I use extra creamy oat milk or almond milk
- Cold brew and ice cubes
- Chocolate bar shavings - optional but highly recommend for added chocolate
- Tools - hand frother, (my personal favorite) blender, mason jar with a lid or electric hand mixer
How to make this chocolate foam recipe
Step one - In a small glass add heavy cream, oat milk, unsweetened chocolate cocoa, and sugar and froth with an electric frother or electric hand mixer for about 30 seconds or until you have reached a thick consistency and set aside.
Step 2: In a tall glass add iced cubes and pour in the cold brew. Pour over the frothed chocolate cold foam and for that extra chocolate goodness add chocolate shavings using your favorite chocolate bar (I like using dark chocolate) and grate chocolate shavings on top of the chocolate cream cold foam.
Recipe Variations and substitutions
You can substitute milk of choice here. I personally like to use heavy cream for a thicker consistency and use oat milk. The use of both milks gives it that very frothy velvety finish without being overly thick like whipped cream. If you don't have heavy cream you can also use half and half, nut creamers of choice. Don't want to use two type of milks? extra creamy nut milk work great here too or barista milks. Just use 2-4 oz of milk of choice instead. Just note that the consistency of the chocolate cream will be a little runnier.
Sugar - Brown sugar works great here too. Start with a ¼ teaspoon and add more if you need more sweetness.
Cold Brew - not feeling like drinking cold brew? I like pouring this chocolate cold foam over lattes or americanos too. You really can't go wrong with the coffee of choice. This cold foam will definitely elevate your coffee drink.
