This Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso recipe is the perfect pick me up with a sweet and frothy mixture. It’s so easy to make in the comfort of your home and can be made with your favorite milk of choice. If you are a fan of the Starbucks Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk shaken espresso then you are going to love this super easy homemade shaken espresso for a fraction of the price. Do you want more coffee recipes? then you must also try this chocolate cream cold brew!

What is an iced shaken espresso

Iced shaken espresso is freshly brewed espresso poured over ice and shaken vigorously in a mason jar with lid to create a delicious frothy texture. It definitely picks you right up to start your day or get through your mid-day hump.

    Why you’ll love this recipe

    • So easy to make in the comfort of your own home
    • Just as delicious as the Starbucks oat milk shaken espresso, but for the fraction of the price
    • Satisfies the caffeine craving

Can you use brown sugar in coffee

Yes, brown sugar adds sweet and caramelized notes to your coffee and is one of my favorite ways to perk up my iced coffees. This shaken espresso with brown sugar is the perfect combo.

Ingredients and tools you will need

    • Double shot espresso for that caffeine boost
    • Milk, I like using unsweetened hemp milk or extra creamy oat milk, but any milk works.
    • Brown sugar adds sweetness with caramel undertones.
    • Cinnamon a dash of cinnamon to add that extra layer of deliciousness
    • Ice cubes to make it cold
    • Mason jar or cocktail shaker with lid - where the magic happens with a few shakes to get a frothy shaken espresso
    • Espresso machine ( I use this one), you can use Nespresso, Moka pot, a French press or Aeropress portable espresso maker too.

    Recipe Variations

Any milk works here. I personally love how hemp milk and oat milk taste with this shaken espresso. The hemp milk is extra creamy. If you want to do a copycat Starbucks brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso then use oat milk.

You can change up the flavor and get creative. You can try hazelnut syrup for a Hazelnut Shaken Espresso or swap in vanilla syrup, coconut syrup, the options are endless.

I loved this! So simple & delicious. I used almond milk because that's what I had, however, I'd prefer the Oatmilk I think!

Such a good Starbucks dupe!!! I used unsweetened almond milk because it’s all I had on hand and only one teaspoon of brown sugar. So yummy! Next time I’ll use a little more brown sugar like the recipe says but I was a little nervous to add too much the first go around. Thanks for saving me some money! 🤞🏻
